Welcome to my website! Here, you can find information about the ongoing research in my laboratory and my teaching responsiblities at Ferris. I am interested in the role of lipopolysaccharide in the virulence of the oral anaerobe Fusobacterium nucleatum. This spindle-shaped bacterium forms aggregates with a variety of other microorganisms. The logo to the left is a colorized micrograph of F. nucleatum (the red rods) covered with Streptococcus. These "corncob" structures are commonly seen in oral biofilms. Much more information about my research is available if you follow the Research link. If you are interested in working in my research lab, I highly recommend reading some of the review materials before coming to see me.
My contact information can be found in the biographical sketch (About Me). I have provided links to all of the courses that I teach at Ferris as well. I periodically take stuff down to update between semesters, so be patient with me if there are occasionally broken links. Finally, to aid in your efforts to track me down, I have provided a copy of my schedule for the current semester below. I am usually in either my office (ASC 2012) or laboratory (SCI 102A) during hours not specifically designated to other tasks. Thanks for dropping by. Dr. Franklund's Schedule for the Spring of 2007 |
