2000 - present Assistant Director for Alumni Relations, Ferris State University. Primary duties include activities that develop and strengthen relationships between the University and its former students and other external constituent groups. Additional duties include advising the Student Alumni Gold Club, coordinating with the Student Activities Office to increase alumni relations' involvement with programming for current students, designing and managing the Alumni Web site, advising the Homecoming Steering Committee and coordinating the alumni relations office activities for Homecoming, coordinating class/program reunions and events, recruiting, training, and managing various volunteer networks, assisting with the content of communications to alumni, including the alumni magazine. In addition to my duties with the alumni relations office, I am also the web developer for University Advancement and Marketing. My duties include developing and maintaining the various Web pages for the division and assisting the University Web Content Manager. I also provide assistance to other divisions with special programming requirements.
1996 - 2000 Development Services Assistant, University Advancement & Marketing. Primary duties included providing secretarial support to the Director of Annual Giving and Development Services. Responsibilities included coordinating special events for the University Donor Societies, maintaining the University VIP mailing list database, developing and managing fundraising campaign mailings, composing and proofreading correspondence, communicating with a variety of internal and external constituencies including students, faculty, staff, alumni donors, corporate representatives and visitors as well as maintaining extensive files containing confidential donor information. Developed and maintained the Web site for Annual Giving and Development Services, including an on-line giving option for alumni and friends.
1982-95 The Back Room Decorating Center, Big Rapids, MI. Primary duties included overseeing daily retail operations and contracting services. Responsibilities included retail sales, customer relations, employee supervision, training and scheduling, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, payroll, job costing and marketing. Accomplished a computerization of company records in 1988, which resulted in substantial savings of company resources.
1980-82 Northern Telecom, Inc., Southfield, MI - senior collector, accounts receivable. Primary duties included timely collection of over 10 million dollars of assigned accounts. Responsibilities included problem resolution, customer negotiations, and coordination of activities with corporate office personnel and field employees. Member of a team that accomplished resolution of seriously aged receivables within a 9-month period.
